Air ConditioningCalls Wharf

The Free Trade Exchange building in Peter Street, Manchester has provided the city with approximately 3,788 sq m (40,784 sq ft) of award-winning office space.

Heatworks worked for Russells Contruction and the developer, Property Alliance Group, on this prestigious development which won the accolade of ‘Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace at the British Council for Offices Awards in 2007.

Formerly a warehouse, the building has been restored to its former glory whilst creating new workplaces that retain a sense of elegance and history.  High vaulted ceilings and large windows with high sills create a special quality and culture.

Heatworks designed a heating, cooling and ventilation solution that comprises an underfloor 4-pipe fan coil system with a roof mounted centralized air handling unit (AHU).  All plant items are controlled by Trend BMS and the AHU is fitted with heat recovery.

The Free Trade Exchange is a perfect example of how Heatworks can bring modern air conditioning and ventilation technology to the most historic of settings in an unobtrusive way to create the perfect workspace for the new millennium.
