Unit 8 warehouse facility comes under the Government Department of Health, Medicines and Health Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The MHRA is responsible for ensuring that medicines are safe, a requirement of the MHRA is that pharmaceutical products are stored with an acceptable range of temperature.
In addition to design and installation of mechanical and electrical services, achieving compliance with MHRA requirements, Heatworks undertook Principal Contractor duties and responsibilities during the contract.
Mechanical Works to include:
Warehouse Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Chillers, Boilers and BMS Automatic Controls.
Office air conditioning, heat recovery ventilation systems, and the extension of the existing LTHW radiator heating circuits.
Electrical Works to include:
The electrical fit out of a large racked out warehouse and ground floor office areas. The electrical installation consisted of lighting and emergency lighting throughout coordinated with the racking layout, small power, power to mechanical systems, fire alarm installation including high level aspirating system within the warehouse, public address, data, LV distribution and a new stand by generator.
2No 270kW chiller modules serving 6No floor standing air handling units supplying air to the warehouse facility.
Ductwork from the AHU’s rises to high level and discharges through drum louvres above the racking at 14m above floor level.
Linear LED High bay luminaire with integral movement sensor are suspended from a 4 pole lighting busbar.
Mechanical Services to Office Block:
Daikin VRF system has been installed on the 2 storey internal office block providing heating and cooling to office spaces and amenities.
LPHW heating system was installed to provide perimeter heating.
Daikin heat recovery units located on the ground floor provides reclaimed heat with fresh air for offices species and the canteen.
